Welcome to the Lifelong Learning Wiki
Getting started
- Purpose: This wiki will be used as an extension to the presentation in SecondLife by Brian J. King and Jason Mellen for the NMC Symposium on the Evolution of Communication.
- Abstract: Many older learners still struggle to transition from traditional learning contexts to online environments that are becoming increasing prevalent in lifelong learning. Using technology to enrich online communication, educators are now better equipped to facilitate learner success by providing means for dialog, praxis, and visualization of ideas. This discussion will explore how advances in communication and social networking help bring essential elements of shared learning into online environments.
- What can you contribute: Please read through the wiki as you follow along with the presentation in SecondLife at the NMC campus. On some of the pages (once you register for an account on this wiki) you can leave comments. Use the "Leave a comment" button at the bottom of the page or at various places throughout the page to contribute comments, suggestions, and any other notes. Thank you for your contributions.
- Sign up for an account for the wiki to contribute comments, suggestions, and other notes here.
